Yemen Orphan Sponsorship

Helping build a brighter future in Yemen

“Myself and the caretaker of an orphan will be in Paradise like this,” and he held his two fingers together. ” [Al-Bukhari]

The humanitarian crisis in Yemen is one of the largest in recorded history, and over 13 million children desperately need help to survive. As a result, orphans in Yemen endure tremendous hardship daily, depriving them of their futures.

Orphaned children are particularly vulnerable, especially in the face of extreme poverty. Without sufficient food or access to education, they struggle to survive.

Yemen Relief strongly urges donors and supporters to assist Yemeni orphans by sponsoring one and helping to create a brighter future for them. Sponsoring an orphan is a highly rewarding experience.

Reclaim Gift Aid

Gift Aid It!Add 25% more to your donation at no cost to you. A Gift Aid declaration allows Yemen Relief to claim tax back on eligible donations. It means that for every £1 you donate to Yemen Relief we can claim back 25p, at no extra cost to you.

By ticking the "Yes" box, I agree I would like Yemen Relief to reclaim the tax on all qualifying donations I have made, as well as any future donations, until I notify them otherwise. I understand that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations in that tax year I may be asked to pay any difference. I understand that Yemen Relief will reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 that I give.

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid does not cost you a penny more, but can add an additional 25p to every £1 you donate. When Yemen Relief receives a donation from a UK taxpayer, we're entitled to claim an amount of tax (calculated at the basic rate of income tax in that year) paid on that donation. Once you have given your permission for us to do this on your behalf, there is no need for you to do anything else.

All that is required is that you must be a taxpayer and that would have paid or will pay sufficient Income and/or Capital Gains Tax to cover all the Gift Aid claimed on all your donations in that tax year. Please note that it is your responsibility to pay any difference.

The amount of tax we claim will be 25% of the total value of your donations in that tax year. Furthermore, if you are a higher taxpayer, you are also entitled to claim the difference between the basic rate which we will claim and the amount of tax you have actually paid. For further details on how you can do this, please contact your tax office. If your tax situation changes and your gifts will no longer be eligible for the Gift Aid scheme please contact us and we will amend your record accordingly.

The unsurmountable loss of a loving parent cannot be described in words. Statistics state that over 1.1 million children in Yemen have lost their parents to the ongoing conflict. They have lost the comfort of home, the innocence of their childhood, and the sense of security ensured by their parents.

These innocent children suffer from hunger and neglect and are often left dependent on humanitarian aid. They need your support to survive every day.

Your generosity can help them receive healthy meals, clean water, and access to quality education and healthcare. While the conflict in Yemen continues to grow, we must hold the fort together to protect these vulnerable children. Help them as Sadaqah Jariyah to secure rewards in both worlds.

Why Sponsor an Orphan?

There are an estimated 200 million children worldwide that have experienced this loss. Many of these children will come from already disadvantaged backgrounds.

So losing a parent can mean that access to education, the protection of shelter, the sustenance of nutritious meals and the chance for a secure future all become an impossible dream. This is why the responsibility of care for the orphan falls on all of us.

Almost 10,000 children are orphaned every day

Over 84 million orphans around the world have lost both parents

Around 197 million children around the world are not in education

Being an orphan is like being born into a misfortunate life. Everything will be harder than usual, and you, as an orphan, will most likely be highly sensitive towards everything and everyone you will ever come across.

Save the Children in Yemen

According to the U.N., The humanitarian crisis in Yemen remains the worst in the world.

In Yemen, more needs are being faced across the board as a result of more than six years of war and severe economic decline.

Two-thirds of the population, or an estimated 20.7 million people, including 11.3 million children, need some kind of humanitarian or protection aid.

An estimated 7.4 million people are in need of nutrition assistance. Of this total, there are 3.2 million who require healthcare treatment for acute malnutrition. 2.3 million children under 5 are expected to go hungry this year, including 400,000 children who are expected to die from severe acute malnutrition.

In war, Children pay the highest price. In Yemen, a kid dies from a preventable disease like diarrhea, malnutrition, or respiratory infections every ten minutes. 15.4 million people are without access to clean water and sanitation, including 8.4 million children who lack access to a sanitary environment.

More than 2 million children are out of school, depriving them of an education and exposing them to protection risks
